Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Platform Unit?

A Platform Unit is the standard measure of your app’s activity — how much it does and how rich the underlying data is. A lightweight app like a to-do list uses very few units; a data-heavy app like an e-commerce store or document processor uses more, because it’s doing proportionally more. As a rule of thumb, 100,000 units a month is ample runway for a prototype and 1,000,000 comfortably scales a commercial product. Most builders never need to think about it — usage stays well within plan limits.

What is Egress?

Egress is the data transferred from our servers to your users. Every time someone loads your app, views images, or downloads files, that’s egress. A typical page load might use 50–200 KB. Streaming video or large file downloads use more. Most apps use far less egress than their plan includes.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

If you exceed your plan’s included allowance, additional usage is charged from your credit balance. You’ll see overage charges in the Usage tab. We’ll never cut off your app - we just deduct from credits.

How does billing work when I upgrade mid-cycle?

When you upgrade, you get the new plan’s higher limits immediately. Your existing usage for the month counts against the new limits. For example, if you’ve used 80,000 Platform Units on Foundation and upgrade to Production (1,000,000 limit), you’ll show 80,000/1,000,000 used. Stripe automatically prorates the subscription cost.

How are credits used?

Credits are used for overage charges if you exceed your subscription plan’s limits. Credits are also used for AI/LLM features. 1 credit = $1 USD.

Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?

Yes! You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. Use the “Manage billing” button to access the Stripe portal.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. For Enterprise plans, we can also arrange invoicing and bank transfers.
